Cloud Burst

the cloud's dark lips have kissed the earth,
and streaked her coarse, dry cheek.
tears of joy spew forth from heaven,
her gravid soil gives birth.
her parched gray tongue tastes the wine from the sky,
her skin regains its ruddy hue.
her moist red mouth resounds with praise,
her flesh unburdens itself of fruit.
her clear green eyes look up, and behold,
the faithful arch from the artisan's brush,
curving from a distant palette,
painting the deep blue dusk.

So, I'm not the only one who finds a certain romance in a summer rain, I see. :) That's beautiful...

It rained here today, too. :) God knows I love such mornings.

Blessings!

Very nice, very nice. Me gusta. It seems I'm not the only one who is having the urge to write poetry at the moment.

Had you happened to have be at the SFA stadium last night between 9:30 and 10:45, you would have seen four familiar faces. Three of which having oddly shaped backs and the other having yoda like flyaways sticking out from its head.

Yes 'tis true. I went running at the track last night, while Branden, Logan, and my Dad hiked up and down the bleachers with their packs on, in preparation for Philmont.

I was rather nice out there. Especially up on top where the flag poles are. A nice breeze blowing the whole time. Mmmm boy.
Running at night is actually quite lovely.

thanks guys.

it's funny that you went to the track last night, which was the first week night i've missed in like, a month. the last two days i've been working strenuously in the sun with a weedeater, machete and clippers, hauling loads of branches, etc. quite draining in this heat. i know, i know, i'm a wimp.

I completely don't feel guilty now. :) I, too, am skipping out on my fitness regimen tonight. My last four days have been spent in merciless, hard manual labor outside, and I simply couldn't do anymore! I know...I'm a wimp, too. :)

Before I completely forget forever:

If it is at all possible and not terribly inconvenient, I would like to have some of you guyses pictures from the ball. Which ever ones you think I would like to have. For instance, the ones of you and myself, and Evan and myself. Our family did not get any of those. I would greatly appreciate it.

On a light note, Mom and I spotted you off in the brush today as Branden was getting stuff out of the van, and I said:

"Branden do you see Jordan?"

"No. Where is he?"

"See the guy carrying the tree?
Yeah, that's him."

Man Jordan, I knew you were a "Lumberjack" but I didn't know you had THAT much school spirit. *Tee hee*

Art thou comithing to the shindig saturday?

i'll see what i can do about the pictures. we have them all on the computer... it should be a simple matter of, let's see, i guess burning them onto a cd.

i confess, i'm a lumberjack at the center of my soul. even though our football team makes me puke, but that's beside the point.

am i coming to the shindig HA! what kind of a question is that???

I know this is going to sound crazy, but you've got to understand that I find some childish delight in numbers...

That being said, have you happened to watch your profile view numbers lately? :) I don't know what you're doing, but a lot of people are paying attention. :)

On 05-29, you were holding at 1079, by 06-09, it was 1098, 06-18 was 1118, 06-21 was 1139, this morning the numbers had reached 1158, and by tonight, the profile views had shot up to 1181. Despite the fact that your mind is now numb with all my discursiveness, at least you'll know people are interested in what you're doing. :)

Keep it up, friend!

Ah, another night owl! :) That sounds like a good secret, indeed. I wish my brother blogged. :)

OOOOOOOOOOHHH... whoops. i just realized you said "profile views." my bad. hmmmm. why the heck would so many people be viewing that?? i haven't changed any of the information in ages. which i guess brings us back to the less vocal friends-of-my-brother, who view but don't comment.
